How to Use Facebook for Beginners

If you are new to Facebook, let alone social media, learning how to use Facebook can be an incredibly difficult and frustrating endeavor. Facebook is a very expansive platform, and is nothing like the chat rooms of old where communicating was easy. Simple tasks on Facebook such as finding friends and adding photos can be difficult for a new Facebook user. Becoming familiar with the layout of Facebook and avoiding scams when browsing are crucial to know to use Facebook safely and securely, and this can be a challenge for the new Facebook user. Many newcomers to Facebook complain that there are no good resources for them to learn how to use Facebook. Facebook itself gives you very little instruction, and the instruction they do give you is written in high-tech lingo, not ideal for "beginners".

Well that is where I come in. I have found that the majority of self-proclaimed social media beginners who are currently using Facebook are completely unaware how to use it to its fullest potential. Many of these people are stuck on their "home screen" and can't do what they want to do. I have also found that the majority of these people want to do the following when using Facebook:

  • Create a nice profile for themselves with pictures of friends, family, and a nice description of their interests and biography.
  • Visit friends' and family members' profiles and comment on their posts and pictures.
  • See all the pictures of their family members, including grandchildren, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
  • Write posts that all their Facebook friends can see and comment on
  • Comment and Like their Facebook friends' posts
  • Upload photos and videos to their Facebook profiles in an easy way
  • Chat with friends and family that are currently online on Facebook, and join chat groups with them
  • Get information on their Facebook friends' events and social gatherings
  • Use Facebook safely and securely

These are just some of the things many of these people want to be able to do easily with Facebook. The good news is, all this can be done easily!

I, along with my staff at Infinity Guides, have created a video guide that teaches beginners how to use Facebook. The video guide is presented in very simple terms, and is easy to follow. It covers everything you need to know to get started using Facebook the way you want to use it. Just about everything pertinent is covered, and you can even skip through the sections at your leisure to learn exactly what you want.

So if you are interested in learning how to use Facebook quickly and easily, I would recommend checking out the online course we created, the Complete Facebook Tutorial for Beginners.

The online course is broken up into 4 parts, so you can learn at your own pace and take your time. Part 1 provides a brief introduction to Facebook, and will teach you how to sign up for Facebook, create your profile, and navigate through Facebook. Part 2 covers your Facebook profile. In this part we teach how your profile works, and how to create the perfect Facebook profile for your friends and family to see. We will show you how to add photos, videos, and your information to your profile. We will also show you in this section how to post your thoughts to Facebook. In part 3 we teach you how to visit your Facebook friends' profiles. You will learn how to write on their profiles, contact them, and interact with their posts and photos. Lastly, in Part 4 we show you how to browse Facebook safely and securely.

Somehow or another I’ve managed to have two Facebook pages. I asked them to merge the two and was informed they can’t do that. How do I delete the one I no longer want so I can focus on the preferred one?
